Dr. Diane Walters
Diane Walters, Ph.D. is a Registered Psychologist with more than 25 years’ experience helping adults, couples, children, adolescents and families. Diane has broad experience across many settings including private practice, Hull Child and Family Services and Wood’s Homes, The Eastside Family Centre, and the Foothills and Holy Cross Hospitals, and the Calgary Weight Management Centre.
Both professional and life experiences allow Diane to be very effective and compassionate in her work with clients. She is committed to a problem- resolution focus using a variety of practical and creative solutions. She helps you use your personal strengths and resources to move forward in your life, with your goals as the primary focus of the therapeutic collaboration. Diane draws on a wide range of treatment approaches to facilitate change including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, mindfulness, clinical hypnosis, EMDR, and solution-focused strategies. Through a variety of professional experiences and education, Diane has developed sub-specialties in aviation psychology and eating/weight concerns. She also provides services for RCMP Health Services and Veterans’ Affairs Canada.
Diane and her spouse have three very active sons. Having retired from marathon running, Diane continues to enjoy a wide variety of activities. Diane is passionate about creating a supportive, caring and empowering therapeutic relationship and believes that this is the foundation of a successful and high quality therapy experience.
